FAQs

  • Yes. We understand many clients don’t have a way to safely transport furniture, so having us handle pick-up and delivery ensures your piece arrives without damage. Delivery fees are based on distance and are outlined in every estimate.

  • Turnaround time depends on the scope of work and our current project schedule. Light restorations may take 1–2 weeks, while full refinishing or structural repairs can take longer. We’ll provide an estimated timeline once we’ve evaluated your piece, and we’ll keep you updated as it nears completion to schedule pick-up or delivery.

  • Product quality makes all the difference. We primarily work with catalyzed lacquer systems and conversion varnish, which are durable, professional-grade finishes used in both original factory production and restoration work. When a project calls for it, we can tailor the finish to balance durability with historical accuracy. We primarily use Mohawk Wood Finishing Products, the industry standard for professional touch-up, repair, and finishing. This allows us to match original mid-century finishes, replicate period-specific colors, and ensure your piece will look authentic while standing up to everyday use.

  • Absolutely. We can replicate original finishes or create a custom look, whether that means color-matching to existing furniture, adjusting sheen, or using creative toning techniques for a bold, modern update.

  • Our focus is on restoration, and whenever possible, we aim to bring a piece back to the finish its maker originally intended. That said, every project is unique, and we’re here to bring your vision to life. If you prefer a painted look, we use high-quality colored lacquers and enamels to ensure a smooth, durable finish that complements the design of your piece.

  • Costs vary depending on the scope of work, from light touch-ups to full refinishing and structural repair. We provide clear, honest written estimates before starting, outlining labor, materials, and delivery (if applicable). In the rare event that unforeseen work arises and costs are expected to exceed the original estimate, we’ll communicate openly right away to review options before proceeding.

  • Yes. All restorations are backed by a 2-year guarantee under normal use. If an issue arises related to our work or materials, we’ll make it right at no cost to you.

  • We recommend dusting with a soft cloth and cleaning with mild, non-abrasive products. Avoid silicone-based polishes or heavy waxes, as they can damage the finish. We’ll provide care guidelines specific to your piece once it’s complete.
